The Archdiocese of Thyateira and Great Britain completed its first cycle of Liturgics Seminars successfully today, Saturday 23rd May, with the participation of clergy from the Greater London area.
At 9am, in the Archdiocesan Chapel of the Annunciation, both Orthros and the Divine Liturgy of Saint John Chrysostom was celebrated according to the Typikon of the Great Church in Constantinople by the Very Rev’d Archimandrite Nephon Tsimalis.
At the conclusion of the Divine Liturgy a discussion took place, where clergy were given the opportunity to submit questions. In his introductory greeting, His Eminence, Nikitas, the Archbishop of Thyateira and Great Britain, having thanked the clergy for their positive respones to this initiative by the local Church, stressed the importance of keeping the Holy Tradition of the Orthodox Church, but also the need to maintain the Typikon of the Great Church of Christ, at all the Holy Altars of the Archdiocese as province of the Ecumenical Patriarchate of Constantinople.
Moreover, Archbishop Nikitas pointed out that these initiatives of the Archdiocese for the educational instruction of the clergy will continue with similar seminars in other cities around Great Britain so that all the clergy of the Archdiocese would be able to participate.
The workshop ended with a brief reception.
Social Distancing and public health measures were maintained throughout, both in the Chapel and in the reception hall.
