On Sunday, December 4, 2022, an event was held for the 200th anniversary of the Catastrophe of Asia Minor at the Greek school of St. George in Kingston. The event was attended by the Consul General of Greece in London, Mr. Christos Goulas, the two heads of the educational missions of Greece and Cyprus, Mr. Veroni and Mrs. Loi, respectively, and Mrs. Chatzigianni, the representative for the schools of the Holy Archdiocese. The event was riveting, and the children’s presence exemplary. The younger children learned about Smyrna by creating handicrafts, while the older ones recited texts, poems and participated in the choir which sang songs from Asian Minor.
