On behalf of His Eminence Archbishop Nikitas, we thank you for your interest in volunteering as staff at our Saint Sophrony Camp Summer 2022.
Saint Sophrony Camp is a residential week away in the UK for children aged 9 to 17 years. Our aim is for each participant to form positive relationships and bonds with peers in our wider church community of the UK and ultimately deepen their relationship with Christ.
Our Staff Volunteers play an important role in reaching this aim. As a Staff Volunteer you will be leading/guiding the participants in activities, helping them, acting as an advisor, listening to and attending to their needs, and most importantly being a role model of an Orthodox Christian living in the world today.
Volunteering as a Saint Sophrony Camp Staff Member is an excellent opportunity to help shape our youth for their Orthodox future. Staff Members should be fun, creative, caring Orthodox Christians with an interest in making a difference in our campers’ spiritual lives. Without dedicated and loving Staff Volunteers, Saint Sophrony Camp would not be possible.
Saint Sophrony Camp is a ministry of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of Thyateira and Great Britain. Volunteering as a Staff Member for Saint Sophrony Camp should not be viewed as a holiday. It should be considered as spiritual work. You will be expected to work 24 hours a day while camp is running. We understand this may sound demanding but it is an incredibly rewarding experience for both campers and staff that words cannot explain.
Note: Applications will open 5 April 2022 and have a deadline of 19 April 2022. Staff Applicants must be Orthodox Christians, and must be at least 18 years old.
