The Central Educational Council of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of Thyateira and Great Britain is based in London and aims to promote the Hellenic Education, which mainly protects the Greek language, the Orthodox Christian Religion and our general cultural tradition. In addition, it oversees the KES schools and assists them in implementing a joint educational programme for the success of the Hellenic Community’s educational pursuits.

The President of KES is His Eminence Archbishop of Thyateira and Great Britain and the parishioners are the Bishops of the Archdiocese. At the same time, there is the Coordinator of the KES who undertakes the educational visits, communication and cooperation with the Heads of the two Ministries of Greece and Cyprus, contacting with the school committees and reporting all issues to His Eminence. To unify the efforts of the Greek community in education, KES cooperates with the Ministries of Education of Greece and Cyprus and with the existing Educational Institutions, and other Hellenic Foundations, Associations and Organizations whose purpose is to serve the Education. KES is a member of EFEPE in addition with the bodies of OESECA (Federation of Greek Cypriot Educational Associations) and AESA (Independent Greek Schools of England). The Central Educational Council of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of Thyateira and Great Britain numbers 57 Greek supplementary schools in England, Wales and Scotland.
