The Feast of St Anargyroi in Camden

On 1st November 2024, His Eminence Archbishop Nikitas of Thyateira and Great Britain, solemnly presided Matins and celebrated the Divine Liturgy at the the patronal feast of the parish of the Holy Unmercenaries, Ss Cosmas and Damian in Gospel Oak. The V. Revd Archimandrite Nephon Tsimalis, Protosyngellus, the V. Revd Archimandrite Basileios Emmanouil, the Revd Protopresbyter Joseph Paliouras and the Revd Oeconomos Dr Kristian Akselberg celebrated with the Archbishop while His Grace Bishop Iakovos of Claudiopolis joined prayerfully in the altar. The Revds Archdeacon Dr. George Tsourous and Deacon Gregory-Palamas Florides served too.

Reflecting upon the extraordinary lives of the Holy Anargyroi, His Eminence Nikitas gave a sermon on the Feast articulating their virtues and deeds, especially because they followed the example of love and sacrifice of Our Lord Jesus Christ.

In the spirit of community and fellowship that followed the service, after the conclusion of the Divine Liturgy, the Community hosted a generous and delicious festal meal including traditional savoury and sweet dishes in the church hall.
